Griffin House School provides an outstanding education in a happy and nurturing environment where every pupil is exceptionally well cared for.

Welcome to Griffin House School

The needs of our pupils are central to all that we do at Griffin House School. We know that their success, both now and in the future, will be built on foundations of happiness and security and so we tailor our teaching to the needs of every child.

Our small class sizes and individualised learning environment ensures that your child will be given the attention and support they deserve to excel and have an exceptional education. Our dedicated teaching staff provide a wealth of opportunities for every child to find their passion and reach their potential in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts and as caring and kind human beings.

We are proud of our excellent local reputation and our ability to unlock your child’s full potential, preparing them for the next stage in their academic life.

HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME

A good education should not come at the expense of a nurturing and happy childhood.

At Griffin House School, our curriculum and class sizes allow our teachers to focus their attention on your child as an individual and ensure they feel comfortable, safe and valued as we know that this will help them reach their full potential.

We guide our pupils to become respectful, curious and tolerant, with the ability to learn independently and engage joyfully in their learning.  We also encourage our pupils to grow as a whole person, ensuring they develop self-confidence and become thoughtful and valuable members of the community.

Our pupils consistently surpass our high expectations and ultimately leave Griffin House School as capable and confident individuals ready to continue their educational journey. I would be delighted to welcome you to Griffin House School so you can see for yourself all our incredible school has to offer.

Join us for our next Open Day, this Friday 19th April!

Starting at 9:30am, you and your child can take a tour of our inspiring learning environment and hear more about our varied curriculum and first-class education.

Book your place today.
Choosing a school for your child is an important decision. We aim to make the school admissions process as straightforward and transparent as possible. As a non-selective school we don’t require an entrance exam, but we look at your child’s school report to see how we can best support your child’s academic career. 📈
“Each child is clearly catered for as an individual yet also brought together into the group dynamic at their own pace; allowing them to become social rather than solitary beings. I am continually amazed at the insight and understanding of my child”

- Pre- School Parent
Join us for our Open Day on Friday 19th April from 9:30am to discover our first class education, varied curriculum and inspiring learning environment.
To support parents who balance work and school, we offer a range of optional extra care. Including our Breakfast Club, After School Care and Evening Care, where children of all age groups can engage in activities or just relax after a busy day at school.
For us, education isn’t just about what we learn in the classroom.
We want to ensure all children have positive attitudes towards taking on new challenges, values that will help them connect with others and skills that benefit them in day-to-day life.
From the moment we open our doors in the morning, the children are learning, exploring and investigating.
Adults play alongside the children, challenging them to extend their thinking, introducing new vocabulary and taking their learning forward.
As well as providing first class education, our Prep classes aim to:
🔒 Ensure that every pupil is happy, confident and secure.
📖 Provide a stimulating environment where each child fosters a love of learning.
🤗 Promote respect and tolerance. We are confident that your child will leave our school well rounded and respectful.

FROM OUR INSPECTION REPORT

Pupils are not just physically healthy: they radiate cheerfulness and care for each other, in large part because of the priority attached by the leadership and management of the school to the fostering of their emotional well-being.

” The children’s development is enabled by teaching that consistently and expertly engages the pupils and effectively structures work to develop their language skills, whatever their ability.”
