Daily Routine
In the Early Years Foundation Stage, our daily routine is carefully structured to support the Prime and Specific Areas of Learning and to promote children’s well-being, independence, and confidence. Each day begins with a calm arrival and settling-in period, supporting Personal, Social and Emotional Development by helping children feel safe and secure.
Throughout the day, children engage in a balance of adult-led learning, specialist sessions, and high-quality indoor and outdoor provision, developing Communication and Language, Physical Development, and the Characteristics of Effective Learning through exploration, play, and purposeful interaction.
Planned experiences and continuous provision also support children in Understanding the World, as they explore their environment, learn about people, communities, nature, and technology, and begin to make sense of the wider world around them.
Snack and lunchtime routines provide further opportunities to practise independence, social skills, and self-care while building positive relationships. This consistent and nurturing routine enables children to become confident, resilient, and curious learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
