Griffin House School provides an outstanding education in a happy and nurturing environment where every pupil is exceptionally well cared for.
Welcome to Griffin House Preparatory School
At Griffin House we place great value on giving pupils the opportunity to flourish in all areas of school life. Throughout the school, we promote an atmosphere where a high level of achievement is valued. We aim to create a sense of happiness and warmth in which pupils are motivated to work and play to the best of their abilities. Both inside and outside the classroom, we generate a sense of vitality based on the principle that learning is fun.
The needs of our pupils are central to all that we do and we know that their success, both now and in the future, will be built on foundations of happiness and security and so we tailor our teaching to the needs of every child.
Our small class sizes and individualised learning environment ensures that your child will be given the attention and support they deserve to excel and have an exceptional education. Our dedicated teaching staff provide a wealth of opportunities for every child to find their passion and reach their potential in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts and as caring and kind human beings. We are proud of our excellent local reputation and our ability to unlock your child’s full potential, preparing them for the next stage in their academic life.
We consider ourselves to be very privileged that parents have entrusted us with the care and education of their children and we value the contribution that parents make to the life of the school. Griffin House is a very happy community and I would be delighted and privileged to show you around our school and talk to you about how wonderful it is!

🌟 To commemorate Ada Lovelace Day, we’re celebrating the brilliant contributions of women in STEM through our “I Belong” programme. Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to hear from real-life tech heroes working in STEM, helping to inspire and empower our girls to believe they belong in these fields too. 💡💻👩🔬

Codebreakers for a day!🕵️
Last Thursday, Form VI visited Bletchley Park - the historic site where secret codes were cracked during WW2.
From decoding Morse code and spotting a real Enigma machine, to learning about Alan Turing and the top-secret work of wartime heroes, the children stepped back in time and even dressed the part!
A fascinating and fun day full of history, teamwork, and some seriously good secret-keeping!

Empowered, inspired, and a little bit muddy! 🏉💪✨
Our Year 5 & 6 girls had an unforgettable day at the EmpowerHer Rugby Festival at @chinnorrfcgirls. From discovering the power of athletic development to diving into the importance of mindful sport, the day was packed with energy, reflection, and new challenges.
They explored rugby skills, tackled barriers in sport, and even had the incredible opportunity to meet England star Maud Muir, fresh from the Rugby World Cup final! 🌟
From stepping out of comfort zones to finishing strong with some brilliant touch rugby games, our girls left feeling confident, inspired, and connected - on and off the pitch.🤩

Back in March, our Little Griffins planted tiny leek seeds in our Apple Garden - and now in October, they’ve harvested tall, healthy leeks! This week, they pulled them from the soil, washed and chopped them with potatoes, and cooked up a warming leek and potato soup for snack. From seed to spoon, every step has been a hands-on learning journey full of curiosity, care, and growing skills!🍲 Well done Pre-school!👏
