Griffin House School provides an outstanding education in a happy and nurturing environment where every pupil is exceptionally well cared for.
Welcome to Griffin House Preparatory School
At Griffin House we place great value on giving pupils the opportunity to flourish in all areas of school life. Throughout the school, we promote an atmosphere where a high level of achievement is valued. We aim to create a sense of happiness and warmth in which pupils are motivated to work and play to the best of their abilities. Both inside and outside the classroom, we generate a sense of vitality based on the principle that learning is fun.
The needs of our pupils are central to all that we do and we know that their success, both now and in the future, will be built on foundations of happiness and security and so we tailor our teaching to the needs of every child.
Our small class sizes and individualised learning environment ensures that your child will be given the attention and support they deserve to excel and have an exceptional education. Our dedicated teaching staff provide a wealth of opportunities for every child to find their passion and reach their potential in the classroom, on the sports field, in the arts and as caring and kind human beings. We are proud of our excellent local reputation and our ability to unlock your child’s full potential, preparing them for the next stage in their academic life.
We consider ourselves to be very privileged that parents have entrusted us with the care and education of their children and we value the contribution that parents make to the life of the school. Griffin House is a very happy community and I would be delighted and privileged to show you around our school and talk to you about how wonderful it is!

Shubh Diwali!
Our school has been shining bright this week as we continued our Diwali celebrations! 🌟🪔
From creating colourful Rangoli patterns to decorating diyas, the children explored how Diwali is celebrated in different homes and cultures. A big thank you to Tapashya and Kumar for sharing their knowledge and making learning so joyful.💛
As this festive week comes to an end, we wish all our children, families, and staff a happy and restful half term.

Our Griffin House artists have been busy exploring Alma Thomas’ beautiful piece ‘The Eclipse’ to celebrate Black History Month. The children have created their own colourful versions, and have even started on a large-scale piece that they have got our Griffin House staff to participate in! 🎨🌟

Last week, Year 5 stepped back in time at Hampton Court Palace. They explored the grandeur of Tudor life, discovering how the palace reflects power and status, and becoming young historians!📜🔍 They even had time to explore the gardens and spotted a giant pumpkin!🎃

🌟 To commemorate Ada Lovelace Day, we’re celebrating the brilliant contributions of women in STEM through our “I Belong” programme. Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to hear from real-life tech heroes working in STEM, helping to inspire and empower our girls to believe they belong in these fields too. 💡💻👩🔬

Codebreakers for a day!🕵️
Last Thursday, Form VI visited Bletchley Park - the historic site where secret codes were cracked during WW2.
From decoding Morse code and spotting a real Enigma machine, to learning about Alan Turing and the top-secret work of wartime heroes, the children stepped back in time and even dressed the part!
A fascinating and fun day full of history, teamwork, and some seriously good secret-keeping!
