Community Links
The unique, supportive community at griffin House is one of the most special aspects of school life for many families and staff members.
Griffin House School has grown from homely beginnings, and we are now welcoming back second and third-generation students. We have a strong pastoral focus and sense of community, and these are part of the individual school experience that we provide for each child and family in our school.
We feel that it is important to form relationships with our wider community. Our close links with our sister-school, Crown House in High Wycombe, has been invaluable to both schools with opportunities for our children to build their confidence and social skills in peer gatherings and friendly competition. Regular inter-school challenges and weekly sports fixtures take place in addition to sports fixtures and matches against other local schools.
Our staff have also been working to create opportunities for our younger pupils to engage with other members of the community through regular visits to local care homes, such as Avondale Care Home in Princes Risborough. This helps our children develop healthy social skills while engaging with the residents in activities like singing, arts and crafts, and reading. Our KS2 staff and older children also work with the local church to put on Christmas and Easter Singing Services for our parents to come and enjoy.

“Pupils take part in charitable fundraising events in houses and through whole school events which helps them to appreciate how they can support others.”
“Pupils are given several opportunities for leadership in the school. For example, pupil well being ambassadors are available at play times to support younger pupils and classes vote for pupils to represent them in school and eco councils”
