Charity Work and Community
It is more important now than ever for children to understand their place and worth in the world and there is no better way to do this than by getting involved in causes both large and small, local, national and global. Over the years, Griffin House School has been very proud to support many worthy and worthwhile causes.
The Chatsworth Schools Foundation which supports Humanitas has built and supported a primary and secondary school in Ghana. The School Council also choose one charity for the school to support each year. Throughout the year, different fundraising events take place at school, many instigated by the children and the parent body, the Friends of Griffin House, who work tirelessly to help us reach our charitable goals.
The children are introduced to a variety of public institutions and services in England. We have formed strong relationships with the community police services, NHS workers and others who regularly visit the school to enhance our children’s learning. We utilise the facilities within our area such as the local library and Church in order to encourage a feeling of belonging to and respect for our community. In doing this, the children of Griffin House School gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the world around them and their place and responsibility within it.
