This week, the children in Reception have been manipulating numbers from 11 to 20. We have been working with ten frames to explore the concepts of bigger numbers, adding numbers, counting in twos and the world of odd and even numbers. The number blocks have been helping us along the way, which after a busy day swimming is a good way to settle into our maths activities.
We also learned that sometimes there is not always one way of looking at things and when looking at patterns and images we can often pick out and see different things. This linked nicely into our positive mind set activity supporting mental health awareness week where the children demonstrated great maturity in exploring their senses to find things that made them feel positive and happy about themselves and their bodies.
