Captain Tom’s 100 Challenge

It has been an extraordinarily busy first week of term but I am really proud of the fact that we have taken time to support the fantastic 100 challenge inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore. I wrote to you earlier in week with the details but you can see in this newsletter how much fun the children had taking part in the various challenges.

During the long bank holiday weekend, the children can take part in the 100 word story challenge, the 100 piece lego model or spending 100 minutes at home doing jobs or helping others.

 

Plant 100 Trees

This week the Eco Council and the children in Early Years planted our 100 trees as part of the Chatsworth 100 challenge. They are great additions to our lovely grounds and a fitting tribute to a great man.

 

Run 100 Miles

After a little bit of maths, we worked out that in order to run 10 miles (our contribution to the Chatsworth 100 miles), each child would have to run about 100 meters. We smashed that in our PE lessons and then just kept going…….
